# How do packed orders get into the tour automatically?

With an automation, apomap sorts each order into the right tour as soon as you set it to "Packed". You just pack – tour planning runs in the background.

## How pack mode and automation work together

1. You create an automation once: which **area** on the map belongs to which **recurring tour**?
2. You activate the option **Only when packed**.
3. While packing, you scan the receipt in pack mode and click **Mark as packed**.
4. apomap checks the address and attaches the order to the right tour immediately. In pack mode you see this right away on the right under **Tour information**.

That way your team always knows which tour a bag belongs to while packing, without planning themselves.

## Why "Only when packed"?

Without this option, orders go into the tour as soon as they're created in apomap. With the option, only what's really packed goes into the tour. So your driver won't set off while a bag is still missing.
