# Pack mode or scan mode: which suits me?

In apomap you can prepare orders with a scanner in two ways. Here you can see which way is easiest for your pharmacy.

Both work the same way: you scan the delivery receipt from your pharmacy management system or an apomap label, and apomap immediately finds the matching order. You don't have to type anything or search the list.

## Option 1: Scan mode in tour planning

You scan all the receipts that should go on the tour one after the other and click **Plan tour**. Your tour is done.

**Ideal for:** Pharmacies with one location where you put the goods together right before the tour anyway.

## Option 2: Pack mode

You scan each receipt individually while packing. apomap shows you the order with all notes, and you set it to **Packed** with one click. Two things make pack mode especially handy:

- **If the order is already in a tour,** you see on the right which tour it's in and at which position. That way you can lay out the bags in the right order for your driver straight away.
- **If you use an automation** that sorts packed orders into a tour, the order goes into the tour the moment you set it to "Packed".

**Ideal for:** Pharmacies with several locations, fixed tours or automations, and anywhere packing and tour planning are done by different people.
