# How do I set up an automation?

With an automation, apomap sorts new orders into the right tour by itself. You define once which area belongs to which recurring tour, and apomap does the rest.

## How it works

An automation links an **area on the map** with a **recurring tour**. When an order comes in with an address in that area, apomap attaches it to the matching tour of the day.

**Example:** All orders from Vaterstetten, Poing and Zorneding automatically go into the Saturday tour.

## Create a new automation

1. In the menu on the left, click **Automations** and then **+** at the top.
2. Enter a **name**, for example "East".
3. Under **Locations**, choose which pharmacies the automation applies to.
4. Click **Draw area on map** and click the area point by point on the map.
5. Choose the options:
   - **Only when packed:** An order only goes into the tour once it's set to "Packed". This option is on by default. → How do packed orders get into the tour automatically?
   - **Time window:** Only orders with a matching time window go into the tour. If you set, for example, 9 am to 1 pm, the automation only picks up orders to be delivered between 9 am and 1 pm.
6. Under **Recurring tour**, choose the tour the orders should go into.
7. Click **Create**.

The **Active** toggle lets you switch an automation on or off at any time without deleting it. Click an automation on the left to edit it, change it with **Save** or remove it with **Delete**.

|| Note: The orders are only attached to the tour. Re-optimise the tour once before departure. → Prepared or ready: when do I need to re-optimise?

|| Note: Automations aren't included in every plan. You'll find an overview of the plans at [apomap.de](https://apomap.de).
